Saif was first option for SRK’s show

The reports of Shah Rukh Khan returning to television was out in the open but what remained under wraps was the fact that the project was firstly offered to Saif Ali Khan. SRK will be seen hosting a water-based adventure sport show, ‘Wipeout’. Buzz has it that the producers of the show were in talks with Saif, but the latter was very apprehensive about the same.

Speaking to a tabloid, a source close to the channel on which the show is planned to air exposed, “Saif could not make up his mind. He was a bit sceptical about acting in a Television show.”And since Saif was indecisive about the offer and was taking too long to reciprocate, the channel chose to approach some other celebrity.

Eventually, they spoke to King Khan, who jumped at the offer.“Shah Rukh grabbed the chance. He loved the idea of the show,” said a source.The staff producing the show is glad to have locked SRK for the show. “SRK brings a lot of energy on the table. But the channel would absolutely love to work with Saif in future,” added the source.

Priyanka-Hrithik will be seen in Krrish sequel again

Priyanka Chopra has just bagged lead part opposite Hrithik Roshan in the much awaited ‘Krrish’ sequel.Buzz has it that Priyanka has been signed on by director Rakesh Roshan and the movie is all set to roll next month.Speaking with a daily, a source verified that Priyanka will be playing a journalist and said, “Priyanka has been the first and the last option. There was no discussing as it has been introduced to the media which are absolutely PR plugs by other actresses just to cast an impression that things are not fine between Priyanka and the Roshan family. However, we were at a meeting and ‘Krrish’ sequel has finally began rolling.

It has been a long wait of almost 4 years. Priyanka has been signed on to play the lead.”“The shooting will generally be out of India and the shooting location is being completed. It is too early for the Roshans to expose anything. Krrish will be seen completely aware of his capabilities. Who will play the villain is now the question as several big names are being contemplated,” added the source.It is greatly believed that Priyanka will be sporting a new look for the film.

Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan is now back on Television with Indian version of American water-based show ‘Wipeout’. We hear that he has been offered not one or two but five crores to host the show.The preparations to bring back the Shahrukh Khan on television with lot of fanfare have already started. Soon he will be shooting the promos of the show.

Akshay Kumar is the leading tax payer in bollywood

Akshay Kumar has emerged as one of the top tax payers in bollywood, by paying a quarterly advance tax of Rs 6 crore. The actor, whose tax payment grew from Rs 4.5 crore in the corresponding period in 2009 to 2010?s Rs six crore, has others like Kareena Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor for company in the club of celebs whose tax payments have risen year-on-year.However, 2010?s October-December period does not seem to be so happy for celebs like Aamir Khan and Hrithik Roshan, whose advance tax payments have declined in 2010, an Income Tax source said.

As against the Rs 4-crore in advance tax he had paid in 2009, Aamir Khan paid Rs 3.70-crore 2010 while Hrithik Roshan’s advance tax payment dropped by half to Rs 1-crore, the source said.Ranbir Kapoor paid Rs 2.5-crore in advance tax versus 2009?s nil but the source was quick to point out that in 2009 the star from the Kapoor clan had chosen not to pay any advance tax in this period.However, the source said that these are preliminary numbers as the deadline for filing returns is on Wednesday.

Advance tax payment system is a way of staggered payment of taxes and is kept for the benefit of tax-payers who find issues arranging a large amount at the end of each fiscal.Generally, the advance tax payments – which happen on a quarterly basis, are seen as a barometer of the tax payer’s yearly income.

Deepika-Sonam’s remarks, cost KJO quite a bit..

Last Sunday’s KWK having Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor as Karans guest seems to have cost him a bit.
The ladies, did everything possible to show Ranbir Kapoor down. As a result, daddy Rishi Kapoor reportedly went all out against the two girls as well as Karan Johar.
Disgusted at their behaviour, Kapoor conveyed to Deepika and Sonam that they should have shown some class. He also declared that he would think twice before working with Karan again.
But it seems mommy Neetu Singh believes in ahimsa. Reema Jain and she are apparently on the sets of Karan’s home production Short Term Shaadi in Las Vegas.
Although Karan is not present at the sets of this Imran Khan-Kareena Kapoor starrer, Neetu’s and Reema’s presence there may definitely raise eyebrows.
Has Neetu taken the first step towards reconciliation? Or is it just because Rima’s son Armaan is working as an assistant on the film? We’ll wait and see.

Shiv Sena targets Shahrukh for his Pakistan favorism...

The Shiv Sena only needs an excuse to attack Bollywood Stars. This time it is Shahrukh Khan targeted.
News is that, SRK has been severely criticized for agreeing to perform at a function for a Pakistani TV channel on the second anniversary of the 26/11 terror strike in Mumbai.
But SRK’s office in Mumbai claims that the superstar hasn’t taken on any such assignment and that he is presently shooting for Farhan Akhtar’s film Don 2 in Berlin, Germany.
However, the scathing editorial in Saamna said that SRK lived in India, worked in Mumbai, constructed “a palace” (Mannat Bungalow in Bandra) in Mumbai but agreed to do a song-and-dance for a Pakistani TV channel in London, ostensibly to help the victims of the recent floods there.
Earlier this year too, the Shiv Sena had targeted SRK for his comment favoring the inclusion of Pak cricketers in IPL tournament.

Sonakshi in tears due to ugly mob behaviour…

The Dabangg actress was in for a rude shock on Thursday evening, when a group of boys walked up too close to her and tried to misbehave.
The incident has left the actress quite shaken up. It happened at the Gandhi garden near Mantralaya in South Mumbai, where three NGOs from the city paid tribute to those who lost their lives during the 26/11 carnage two years ago.
Sonakshi’s bouncers immediately rushed her out of the premises to a safety zone. She was immediately tucked into her car that sped away in no time. They say Sonakshi was in tears when she eventually got into her car.
An eyewitness told Mumbai Mirror, “The miscreants were too brash and rowdy. They came too close to Sonakshi. Everything was fine when Sonakshi entered the premises at 4.25 pm. She sat through the event for an hour. It was only when she got up to leave that the scene turned ugly.
Explaining chronologically, the witness said, “Sonakshi was quietly leaving the event around 5.30 pm when suddenly a large group of people began following her. Most of these people seemed to be her fans, but a few miscreants who had been lurking around all this while, cut throught he crowd to reach her.”
Sensing a big crowd behind her, Sonakshi apparently hastened her strides but the mob was relentless. While saying things like ‘Idhar dekho na, hamse baat karo na’, some of those guys walked up to her and touched her on her arms and shoulder. Added the witness, “Their behaviour was disgusting and that too at an event where the police bandobast was at its best.”
While Sonakshi remained unavailable for comment, her manager said, “The mob’s behaviour was simply unacceptable. They created a big ruckus, completely disrespecting the speakers on stage. They even fell over and hit each other.”

“This kind of attack happens in the rarest of rare cases. But it happened to me”: Hrithik Roshan

Hrithik Roshan, who was hospitalized for an allergic reaction to an antibiotic medicine, has returned home but has not allowed his sons to see him.

“They’d get so scared if they saw me like this. Though my lips are going back to their normal size, they’re still not fully normal. I don’t want my sons to see me until I look like myself again,” said Hrithik.
The actor, who is married to Sussanne, has two sons – Hrehaan, 4, and Hridaan, 2.
“This kind of attack happens in the rarest of rare cases. But it happened to me. Anything could’ve happened if I hadn’t rushed to the hospital,” said the actor who was rushed to the hospital Sunday and was discharged on Monday.
“I was driving to a friend’s funeral when the attack suddenly happened. It just makes you so grateful for the gift of life.”
The 36-year-old had gotten so frightened that he had checked into the hospital alone.
“It was crazy! I’d have been frightened to death at what I saw in the mirror. Within minutes my lips had swollen to 10 times the normal size. Luckily for me, even in that shocking state, I remembered Eddie Murphy in a film where his lips had swollen to monstrous proportions because of an allergy. So I knew it wasn’t fatal,” he said.
Hrithik was immediately able to identify that it was an allergy caused by a new antibiotic he had taken half-an-hour earlier.
“That was the only alien substance introduced in my body. I told my doctors about it. And they were immediately able to locate the source of allergy. Such violent allergy attacks usually happen in the West after eating prawns.
“I must be the only person in the universe to get so sick after taking an antibiotic pill,” said the actor who has earned rave reviews for his performance as paraplegic patient in “Guzaarish”.
Hrithik is overwhelmed by the response to his performance in “Guzaarish”.
“I guess this (the hospitalization) was god’s way of balancing things out. I was getting much love for my performance it had to be counter-balanced.”

“Guzaarish” has taken Hrithik to new heights of self-realization. “How can one not be affected when you meet these people who are paralyzed for life? Their spirit and joie de vivre just overwhelms you. I’ll always be grateful to Sanjay Bhansali for giving me the opportunity to do this film.”

“‘Guzaarish’ is a different scale and space. The closest I’ve been to this space is ‘Jodhaa-Akbar’. It’s an entirely different experience when you know you’re affecting lives beyond entertainment.”

Sanjay Dutt cancel’s celebrations on 26/11

Sanjay Dutt did not have his Rolls Royce Ghost delivered yesterday, as the date happened to be 26/11, an extremely dark day in the history of Mumbai.
The actor decided to collect the car a day later. He decided to gift the car to Manyata after she delivered their twins. Sanju changed his mind at the last moment because he did not want to celebrate on a day of mourning for the rest of the country.
His manager Dharma Oberoi confirmed the news and said, “Today is 26/11 and Dutt wouldn’t want to celebrate on such a day.”

According to Mid day daily,  Sreeram Chandra, a Telugu singer, will give his voice for the Hollywood film Chronicles of Narnia – The Voyage of the Dawn Trader it seems. As you ll know, Sreeram had recently won the famous talent show Indian Idol 5.
The said song will be recorded in Hindi, Telugu and English. It is believed that the song will be played during the end credits. Though the end credits are not so famous, it isn’t all bad for someone like Sreeram to see his name on screen,as his  career has just started off.
Sreeram will also be coming up with an album very soon, one of the many gifts he received for winning Indian Idol 5 . The song he will record for the Hollywood film will also feature in this film. Here’s a sneak peek at steamy pictures from Barbara Mori’s Spanish film La Mujer De Mi Hermano (My Brother’s Wife) that will never make it to the Hindi dubbed version.
The film will release in India in English as well as Hindi. While the English version has been passed with an ’A’ certificate, the Hindi adaptation has been sent for censor review.
The international version has frontal nudity and intimate sex scenes, the desi version will be trimmed keeping the audience in mind.
A source reveals, “The Spanish version has frontal nudity and a lot of intimate lovemaking scenes.
While the English version has retained some of those scenes barring the frontal shot, the Censor board is bound to suggest major cuts for the Hindi one.”

If rumor mills are to be believed, Aamir Khan is back to his Ghajini hair-cut, and will grow his locks step by step to decide which hair-style looks best on him.
A source told, “Aamir has shaved his head, but not completely. It’s basically a look which resembles related stories the one he had in Ghajini.”
The actor shaved off his hair on November 8. “The shaving happened on November 8. It was done at his residence. Obviously, nobody else was present except a new hairdresser and Aamir’s family,” continues the source.
The actor will allow his hair to grow, and would then zero on the look that he wants for Reema Kagti’s suspense drama. “Now, Aamir will growing his hair all over again. And he shall settle on the crop which he feels would best suit him.”

And if we’re talking chemistry between Hrithik and Aishwarya, then let’s get one thing clear – this ain’t Dhoom. It’s something far deeper and satisfying.”
Movie critic Taran Adarsh, who has given four-star rating to the film feels that the movie is “special in more ways than one”.
He writes, “Bhansali has worked himself to the grind and his presence is felt in every frame of Guzaarish. There is an inimitable intellect that Bhansali brings to his movies. Bhansali is also known to extract the best performances from his actors.”
Also Sanjay Leela Bhansali successfully tells a complex story in a convincing way. “Only a sensitive raconteur can do absolute justice to a challenging subject like the one in Guzaarish and Bhansali seems the right candidate for an extremely tricky theme like mercy killing/Euthanasia. The story is complex and can only be narrated by a storyteller who has the art of telling stories most convincingly”, says Adarsh.

PC’s role as nurse rewritten by KJO…

Priyanka Chopra brings a very large amount of sensuality into every project she is given.
In Karan Johar’s Dostana, the swimming costume shots came in only after Aishwarya Rai said ‘No’ to the film, and now Priyanka’s entry into Karan’s next, Agneepath 2, has ruffled a few feathers.
In fact, lately, there has been much dispute in Karan’s company Dharma Productions over Priyanka’s sensuality-quotient in their forthcoming remake of Agneepath.
The original character of the nurse (played by Madhavi) has been found a bit boring for Priyanka’s presence.
The character is now being re-written into a different professional space to accommodate Priyanka’s presence. All said and done, Priyanka will not be seen as a nurse in Agneepath 2.
Says Karan, “We can’t have Priyanka playing a nurse, please!”

Pamela’s three day stay in Bigg Boss house has come to an end and finally she will be seen interacting with host Salman Khan on tonight’s episode. Interestingly Pamela will sing and dance on the popular item song Munni Badnam Hui from Salman Khan’s Dabangg on tonight’s episode. Of course Salman Khan will give her company.
The housemates who have already started missing Pamela had suggested she perform on Salman’s current favorite number Munni Badnaam Hui and charm him by her moves. Dressed in sexy pink top and red shorts, Pamela who has barely learnt some Hindi words did not know how to react when Salman started conversing with her in Hindi. When she started singing Munni Badnaam, Salman came to her rescue and helped her get the song lyrics right.
Soon Pamela changed into traditional Indian outfit and looked stunning in a blue lehanga-choli. That’s when they started dancing on the song. Salman added his funny touch to the performance by imitating Pamela by scratching his head while singing the song.
We must add that Pamela’s sensuous moves can give Malaika a run for money.

Reason behind Imran Khan’s decision for court marriage …

There have been many rumours about how Imran Khan will wed his girlfriend of many years Avanitka Malik. The couple had set their mind on some date in January 2011, they were not sure how they would want to go about it. While some suggested a nikaah, some advised on a big reception.
But both Imran and Avantika agreed on one thing, they wanted a quiet affair.
It was during the shooting of Break Ke Baad, that Imran Khan finally decided to go for court marriage. The inspiration came from the director of the film, Danish Aslam, who has had a court marriage with actress Shruti Seth not too long ago.
So, as of now Imran has decided that he will have a very private, court marriage at his house in the second week of January, next year.
Confirming the same, Imran says, “I am from a Muslim family and Avantika belongs to a Hindu family. I personally didnt want to commit our wedding to one religion or other. We felt the best way for us would be to keep it neutral and have a court marriage. Danish was in the same situation and so went for a court marriage.”

“Spending time with Abhi is quite a holiday for me”: Aishwarya Rai

Aishwarya Rai says life has been extremely fast-paced since the day she chose to study science in high school. Now the internationally renowned actor is waiting to take a much-needed break before entering another year full of film projects.
“I keep joking that the pace of my life has been so hectic ever since high school. From Class 12, when I was a science student, till date it has only been a hectic pace and that’s the only pace perhaps my body knows now.” says Ash.
This year has been particularly hectic for the 36-year-old actor thanks to the release of her films – Raavan, Robot, Action Replayy and Guzaarish in quick succession.
There has been so much jet-setting in and out of the country and travelling within India for the promotion of her films that Aishwarya fell slightly ill. But she is not complaining.

“Come on! I’m okay now. If you think work pressure has affected me, how would you explain Hrithik (Roshan) getting unwell after doing just two films in two years? I just got a day’s fever and I’m all raring to go,” she said.
Aishwarya is now looking forward to some relaxing time.
“It’s almost the end of November and very little of December is left. I had deliberately kept a little part of December off because, since 2008 I have been working continuously”
Ash is still in talks with film-makers on her future projects and will be able to announce further developments around February next year.
“There have been talks. Producers are working out the scheduling, and then the announcements will be made. I was going to sign two films to do this winter, but I declined them because I had prior commitments. The next lot of offers will materialise post-February and March, and will continue beyond next Christmas,” claims Ash.
So she wants to make the most of her holiday period with husband Abhishek Bachchan and all her family members.
“Spending time together is quite a holiday for me. It doesn’t matter where we are,” she says.
For now, Aishwarya is just waiting to get the audience reaction to Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s just released Guzaarish, in which she plays Sofia, a nurse to a paraplegic essayed by Hrithik.

“It is my final release of this year…and what a special film to share with our audience! My character Sofia is very special. The kind of capacity, strength, resilience, commitment, empathy and unconditional love that she has for a patient just takes this character to a different realm altogether,” ends Ash.

Guzzarish has picked up really well…

In the festive season when madcap comedies are all the rage, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s dark and broody film Guzaarish wasn’t expected to get a great opening anyway.
The film, starring Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai and directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, had an average, or even below average opening at many multiplexes in major cities. But as the rave reviews began to come in from critics, and the positive word of mouth from the viewers began to spread around, the film picked up in the evening shows.
Multiplexes in cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Pune saw greater footfalls in the evening. The collection is likely to go up further on Saturday and Sunday.
Given the fact that the film has no major competition at box office except from Golmaal 3 which released two weeks back, Guzaarish is expected to do a decent business in its first week.

Lisa Ray to host travel-based show

Lisa Ray made heads turn after appearing in the music video 'Afreen' and Bollywood film Kasoor. However, the pretty lady was diagnosed with a rare type of cancer (multiple myeloma) and went into exile for a few years.

After successfully fighting out the life-threatening disease, Lisa is now back with renewed vigour. The Canadian beauty has in fact been roped in by lifestyle channel TLC to anchor their new travel-based show that goes on air early next year.

The show aims to depict the cultural backdrop of India like never before and Lisa is mighty excited at this golden opportunity.
